Spoilt for choice, Wakerley offers many hidden gems in the approximately 4.9 square kilometers it spans. In total there are 14 parks that offer a variety of activities for all ages. Fancy a game of basketball, a workout on the gym equipment, taking your puppy for a walk, or enjoying the beautiful cycling and walking tracks available, there is something for everyone - great for relaxing, exercise and play!
Enjoy the lovely ocean breezes from the Bay and unwind in a tranquil environment. The parks have lovely benches to sit on and ample space to have a picnic and relax. Amenities are also available at selected parks and recreational areas. Wakerley even has a beautiful lake with an abundance of bird life - even the pelicans love visiting the lake.
Great for young families with numerous options of schools private and state, ranging from early learning and day care to high school. Schools in the catchment area of Wakerley is: Gumdale State School catering to students from Prep to Year 6 and Wynnum State High School catering form Year 7 to Year 12. If desired there is the option of private schools nearby such as Agnew School Inc, Redlands College, Moreton Bay College and Iona College to name a few.
What's the attraction? Well, Wakerley has the sense of family and community. With a population of 8,445 (2016 Census), predominantly owner occupiers (72.3%) households are mostly couples with young children who work in a professional occupation.
Conveniently situated just minutes away from local amenities - Eastside Village, which is very popular and supported by the locals, offering a good variety of businesses, shops and eateries to choose from. Five to ten minutes to Woolworths at Mayfair Village on Manly and for a more comprehensive shopping experience Westfield Carindale is only 10 minutes away. Public transport is available, via Carindale interchange to Brisbane City (Scheduled times and routes are available online) coupled with easy access to major arterial roads that lead to Brisbane City, Gold Coast and Airport.
