Thinking Outside The Box

The number of older women in Queensland experiencing or at risk of homelessness is rising, with a staggering 165,000 women aged 45 -55.

Our Property Management team has enjoyed meeting some wonderful people over the years. We wanted to share this positive story and how thinking outside the box to find your special home is possible in this challenging rental market that we are all currently experiencing.

Over to you Ann...

I want to share a positive story about two ladies I met through my property inspections who were both looking for a new home on the beautiful Bayside, and they kept meeting each other at our open homes. Both are professional, mature women searching for a modest home with a rental price of $500 - $550 per week each.

After bumping into each other again, they decided to go for breakfast one Saturday morning after a property inspection at the Rabbit Hole Café on Tingal Road. As they got to know each other, they decided to pool their resources and find a property together.

After searching, they found a beautiful 4-bedroom home with two living spaces and two bathrooms they could rent together. This fabulous property was $800.00 per week. So, the individual outlay is less per week than they initially considered spending if they had rented separately.

Together, they now have a beautiful, affordable home and a new best friend!
