Wynnum is Hollywood bound with the development of a cinema complex lodged by Berrima Develop Pty Ltd (a subsidiary of the Waterloo Bay Hotel Group) for the proposed site at 82-90 Berrima St and 73-75 Bride St in Wynnum. No longer will locals need to leave the bayside for entertainment, with an 8 cinema complex to include 500 seats plus cafe and retail space and residential units. The community has strongly supported the plan with positive submissions on the councils’ website, with the consensus feeling this can only be positive for activating retail and driving the growth of entertainment and hospitality in Wynnum. Once finishing an initial assessment of the proposal, the council are seeking community feedback and if approved, construction will start around March to June 2018 - watch this space!
